Frequently Asked Questions — Virtual Horse Lessons
1. What are virtual horse lessons?Virtual horse lessons are live or recorded online coaching sessions designed to help riders improve their horsemanship skills from anywhere. Using platforms like Pivo, FaceTime, or Google Meet, riders can receive one-on-one guidance in real time or submit a pre-recorded 20-minute riding video for detailed feedback and instruction. These lessons allow you to continue your training even without access to an in-person trainer.

2. Do I need special equipment to take a virtual lesson? If you choose a live session, you’ll need a Pivo camera or smartphone tripod and a reliable internet connection. If you don’t have a Pivo, don’t worry — you can still record your session using your phone or camera and send it in for review. We’ll provide feedback with clear instructions on how to improve your technique.

3. What types of topics can I work on during my lessons? Our virtual lessons are completely customizable! You can choose up to six topics per session, including:
  • Riding position & form correction
  • Groundwork or desensitization
  • Confidence building for horse & rider
  • Addressing barn-sour or buddy-sour behavior
  • Improving communication, timing, and feel
  • Reducing spooking or reactive tendencies
Whether you ride English, Western, or simply want to better understand your horse, lessons are tailored to your exact goals.

4. Who can take virtual horse lessons? These lessons are designed for all experience levels — from beginner riders learning foundational skills to experienced equestrians looking to refine their connection, timing, or performance. They’re perfect for riders without access to local trainers, adult amateurs, youth riders, and even homeschool equine students.

5. How long do the lessons last and how soon must I use them? Each virtual session runs approximately 45 minutes for live lessons or 20 minutes for video-based feedback. Lessons must be used within 90 days of purchase to ensure consistent progress and continuity in your training journey.

6. Can I rewatch my virtual lessons later?Yes! All lesson recordings and feedback videos are yours to review anytime. This allows you to revisit the advice, refine your technique, and track your progress over time — just like having a personal trainer on call.

7. Do I need to own a horse to participate? Not necessarily! Many students participate with leased horses, lesson horses, or even take the course for theoretical and observational learning. If you’re currently between horses, virtual lessons are a great way to keep your skills sharp and stay connected to your horsemanship education.
