Openings for Training
Only $700/month*
Includes grass hay and 14% pellets. Additional supplements and hay/grain can be provided by owner if desired. No additional discount.
Winter is here, and so are the trail rides. Horse shows and play-days are right around the corner! Is your horse ready?
Offering continuing training for colts, or green horses. Also openings for a problem horse worked on? Legging up???? Desensitization????? Training is available for colt continue training, ground work, refresher courses, barrel training, problem solving, and show/sale prep. I charge $700/month, which includes board and feed. Horses are worked 5 times a week. Owners are encouraged to come out and see how there horse is doing and very encouraged to have a lesson so that as a rider they understand what I have done with the horse and understands what cues the horse was taught so that the owner may enjoy his/her horse.
All horses that come to me will be worked with on the ground first to determine how well they behave and listen on the ground. If I can't handle the horse on the ground, then I will NOT get on. Ground work is always a first in my book and is a safety concern for both horse and rider. Ground work will be considered as part of the training process and charged accordingly.
Colt continuation training is for colts with a minimum of 15 solid rides and minimum of one mont handling. Horses must know know how to walk, trot, and lope under saddle with no issues. This is geared for horses that need continued training, emphasis is placed on being more precise with cues, moving off of leg, suppleness as well as lightness, as well as the start of collection.
A refresher course is available as a special consideration and is for the horse that has sat all winter not being ridden and the owner may want to have the horse tuned up or a refresher before getting on for the first time in the spring.
Problem solving would include things like biting, kicking, rearing, charging, barn sour, hard to catch, saddling, trailer loading, and many more other issues included. As every horse is different, each horse may take a different length of time to get over what the issue may be.
Ground work training is great for yearlings, or even the older horse that is maybe a little more pushy and needs a refresher course in manners.
I require all training to be paid in full by the end of the month, at each and every month. Half of the payment is required at start date. NO Exceptions. Thank You.
Normal Rates:
5 days/week w/ feed: $700*
Prices subject to change*
All horses are required to have current coggins, proof of current vaccinations and recent oral examination. Vet and farrier care extra charges and will be billed to owner.
Feed is grass hay and 14% pelleted grain. If you have different feed of your choice, you may provide it or request it for an extra fee.
